999R delivery

April 9, 2006. There's a new sheriff in town!

Well happy days are here again! The guys at MotoItaliano just took delivery of our team's "new" 999R? Well, let's say it new to us and keep it at that. Turns out we have a press day at Barber Motorsports Park to thank for helping put us on a big dog this year. Someone crashed this little gem and it's sat ever since in some warehouse in LA. It's got 2,000 miles on it, seems pretty fresh, dyno'd at 137hp and sounded pretty tight. The damage done in the crash seems pretty minor. Looks like it was a low-side. Front brake lever and throttle are damaged, bodywork pretty scraped up, footpeg re-aligned and the tank has a scrape on it. Other than that it seems good. We've got two weeks to get this puppy hooked up. All the parts are on order now. Some pretty tricky stuff.... But NOT anything stupid in the motor this time. The motor's staying stock. This year we're concentrating on the chassis. Stay tuned for detailed photos of the build process.
